Trade pressures are widening for Canada’s wood sector as new U.S. tariffs reach furniture, millwork, panels and tooling, while Canadian counter-tariffs add costs for imported hardware and materials. Meanwhile, accurate moisture measurement depends on choosing the right meter, using proper depth and technique, applying species and temperature corrections, and maintaining calibration to protect quality and prevent costly production problems downstream.
